Capable and dignified British off-roaders. The classiest way to tackle the rough dirt roads, fjord a river, or scale a mountain, is in a Land Rover Defender. All-terrain right from the start, Land Rover Defender became one of the world’s most recognizable four-wheel drive vehicles. Enduring and capable, it is a legend on seven continents for challenging expeditions and humanitarian support.
Many consider the tough-as-nails Land Rover Defender to be the greatest 4×4 ever built by anyone, anywhere – and most can agree that it’s a genuine British icon with serious off-roading ability.

The custom Beach Runner keeps the iconic form while enhancing its styling and practicality. Complementing its timeless aesthetic, the Beach Runner’s interior comes fitted with water and UV resistant seats, plus a tough trim built to resist sand and salty water. The rugged interior make a little bit of sand and water easy to deal with, while UV resistant seats in Dice and Onyx prevent any unwanted burns from the late afternoon sun. A new mohair roof soft top protects passengers from the elements, while it can be opened allowing the ocean breeze to circulate freely through the cabin.
You can drive to the beach or go to the mountains with an awesome Heritage Beach Runner Defender! The Mohair soft top has clear or smoked windows with opening sides and is supported by a Heavy Duty galvanized or powder coated frame to last a lifetime.
About the build process:
Building a custom Defender takes time and unmatched attention to detail. Each restoration project or a custom build starts with getting to know and understanding the customer, with close attention to their unique needs and requirements.
Xerbera’s policy is to employ only the highest quality parts and labor in each restoration. We use factory-original parts whenever possible, but since some of these cars are over forty years old, not all parts are readily available from Land Rover. In these cases, we will use the highest quality reproduction parts available to ensure a long lasting Defender you’ve always wanted.
We start with an original, legally imported Defender donor vehicle and strip it down the chassis. Each donor is disassembled down to the smallest possible part and then thoroughly inspected.
The axles are fully rebuilt using Ashcroft inners, each and every donor vehicle will be rescued with an upgraded fueling system with braided steel lines, upgraded transfer case and upgraded performance disc brakes all around.
The sky’s the limit. Our full frame off restoration process allows for the customization of every detail. A blend of precision engineering and hand detailing allows for each build project to be unique and exact to customer specifications.
At Xerbera Automotive, we don’t like to cut corners – we always put quality and functionality first! Put your trust in Xerbera and rest assure we’ll deliver the best quality built Defender you can imagine. Be different and own a beautiful Heritage Beach Runner Defender today!
All Beach Runner Edition Defenders are supplied with our custom and unique CNC machined exterior plaques and can be ordered as Defender 90 or 110 models.
The Beach Runner Edition package includes:
Engine:
Cummins R2.8 Turbo Diesel – 161HP – 267 lb-ft
The R2.8 turbo-diesel engine is the ISF2.8 four-cylinder diesel engine, the smallest and lighter engine out of the ISF engine family. The Cummins ISF2.8 is the modern engine that combines two main qualities – the power and compactness. The Cummins R2.8 engine has cast iron cylinder block with sleeves, which could be replaced. That results in less material consumption and higher strength. The simple and cheap material provides low cost, reliability and repair possibility.
The engine has the high-end technology fuel system – electronically controlled Common Rail fuel injection. The high-pressure fuel pump is mounted on the front end of the engine. It is driven by camshaft through the gear. The ISF2.8 has turbocharger HE 200 WG without an intercooler. The engine is equipped with start-up relief devices at low temperatures. An electric spiral is provided for heating the air in the intake manifold.
Under budgetary constraints of the build project, if original engine is desired, we can certainly rebuild one to keep the build cost down.
